I DO NOT use automatic car washes. I believe that it even says in your owners manual not to use them. Plus, if you have an S or a JCW, I've heard horror stories of hood scoops being sucked out by the drier.

That is a BIG no-no for cabrios!! Not only is it bad for the paint....it is even worse for the cloth top. Just remember how much $$ you spent on your MINI and how much it means to you...do you really want to abuse it like…

NEVER ever do I use automatic car wash - causes too many swirlies and it really isn't good for your rag top either! :( IMHO I'd say go dirty and topless! Oops that sounded bad but . . . there's my .02 cents…

Nope, I don't use the automatic drive thru car wash !! to many decals and I don't trust the machine rotating brush! may leave swirls and fine marks! sometimes I do use the self wash! with the spray gun at the local self…

Does anyone use the automatic car wash?

I pondered long and hard and bought an unlimited package for our local automatic car wash. It makes me crazy, given that I drive a cabrio and I don't want all of those chemicals on my lovely fabric top. But, at the same time, I don't have the time or often the environment to wash by hand -- especially in these lovely Missouri winters.
