Drove to Cincinnati. Got there about half an hour early (around 7.30am) and took Basil in. Got a loaner car.
Sparkling Silver Cooper, Automatic. It felt SO WEIRD to drive it omg. I was constantly fretting while trying to find the clutch and I forgot how to change from park to drive several times, haha.
Drove around for quite some time. Around 11am the dealership calls me and tells me there's a ruffle in the plans. Apparently they ordered the wrong roof decal and it didn't look right at all. They wanted to keep Basil overnight and give me the rental car until then.
Mind you that the rental/loaner car is NOT cheap. $0.15 a mile. I live ~200 miles away and would have to drive places here, too. I told them I was not going to let them keep my car overnight anyways, since there was no way I'd be able to make it back since I had to request off of work for today.
So we were kind of stuck. They just said they'd finish up what they could and then we'd discuss what to do after that when we got back to the dealership.
Went out to eat. Johnny Rocket's in a mall nearby. Was ridiculously expensive (handfull of fries and chicken for almost $10? Geez.). Oh well. It was okay. Drove around until around 12.30 then returned to the dealership.
Wound up deciding that they would vallet my car up there at a later date at no cost due to the inconvenience. Kind of miffed that they're gonna be driving it there and back (since *I* won't be putting the miles on it, but I guess I can't complain) and they'll give me another loaner car for down here while my baby's up there for a few days. They estimate 2-3 days but I'm expecting it to take about a week.
So went out and looked at him. At first I second guessed myself when I saw what they'd done, but then I figured that he'd look a lot better (and more complete) when the roof decal is put on. The more I look at him the more I realize that he doesn't look bad, he just looks different than what I've gotten used to on him (being plain blue).
Drove him home and got back about an hour and a half ago.
Filled up his tank for the first time today, too. Had him three weeks and drove him to/from Cinci twice before I had to do that. Averaging around 36mpg right now due to the two drives to Cinci.
